HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE MY CHILDREN and/or PETS MAY SAFELY GO ON THE LAWN?
Gro Lawn recommends you keep your pets & children off the lawn until one hour after the application has been watered in. This is one reason we recommend watering in our application the same day it is applied. Once your application has been fully watered in, your children and pets can return to the lawn without any precautions.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I MOW MY LAWN?
A good rule of thumb is to mow your lawn once or twice per week in the summer. It is also very important to make sure your mower is set to a height of 4 ½ inches, that your mower blade stays sharp, and that you always change your mowing pattern to prevent rutting. A good rule of thumb is to never cut more then 1/3 of the grass blade in one cut. Mowing is a very important part of your lawns success, so our technicians will always let you know how your mowing habits are. If you have any questions in regards to mowing, please call our office.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT AFTER AN APPLICATION TO MOW MY LAWN?
Your lawn may be mowed the same day your lawn was treated. Most mowers and landscape maintenance companies use mulching kits and do not bag the clippings. So even if the lawn has been mowed, the products will still be on the lawn clippings and be watered in when your irrigation system runs. The best thing to do however is to try and water in each application before mowing if at all possible.
WHY CAN I NOT GET GRASS TO GROW UNDER MY TREES?
One of the primary reasons grass begins to thin out and deteriorate under trees is due to the amount of shade provided by the tree. Usually a good trimming of the tree or raising the crown will help. Your technician will let you know if this something that can be done to encourage thicker growth underneath your trees.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY IRRIGATION BOX IF IT HAS BEEN RAINING VERY HEAVILY?
It is very important you do not turn your irrigation box to the off position; this will make sure you do not forget to turn the switch back to the on position. Each irrigation system should be equipped with a rain and freezer sensor, this sensor tells your irrigation box not to turn on when there has been an adequate amount of rain fall.

No, however we have teamed up with several lawn maintenance companies in the area that we have worked with for years and strongly recommend. If our landscaper notices anything out of the ordinary on your property, they will notify us immediately. If you should ever need a landscaper reference, please feel free to call our office.

Yes, we believe very strongly in having the same technician service your property each and every treatment. This allows your technician to know your property's strengths and weaknesses. WHAT IF IT RAINS RIGHT AFTER MY SERVICE?
If it rains right after your service, don’t be alarmed. Almost all of the products we use at Gro Lawn need to be watered in. We also spend extra money on products that begin penetrating into the plant tissue as soon as they touch. This allows the products to work faster and more efficiently.
WHAT TYPES OF INSECTICIDES DOES GRO LAWN USE?
We use contact insecticides and systemic insecticides which allow us to be proactive rather than reactive. Contact insecticides will kill insects they come in contact with. Systemic insecticides live in the plant tissue for up to 90 days and protect your plants even between services. Systemic insecticides are an important part of our program and these insecticides are also what allow us to keep our properties insect free when some of our competitors struggle.

A combination of granular and liquid fertilization is typically used depending on the time of the year. Also, each property is different and gets treated according to the needs of your specific lawn's requirements.
IF MY NEIGHBOR’S PROPERTY IS TREATED FOR INSECTS, WILL THE INSECTS MOVE OVER TO MY PROPERTY?
Yes, when a property is treated with insecticide, the insects will want to find a nearby area that will serve as their new breading ground. We protect our customers from this by using systemic insecticides. Systemic Insecticides have been a revolutionary breakthrough for our industry; these products are absorbed through the plant’s leaf tissue and root system and live in the plant for up to 90 days. That’s means if insects come onto your property between your scheduled treatments, they will die as soon as they eat off of your turf. Systemic insecticides are more expensive, but allow us to keep our customers protected from the majority of insects including chinch bugs, even between our applications. Gro Lawn insists on being proactive rather than reactive, and systemic insecticides are one of the ways we stay proactive.
